The King's Lynn Under Siege community archaeology project have published a report covering the excavation of part of the English Civil War fortifications.
FSG Member and Director of the project which was set up to investigate the town during the 'English' Civil Wars explains.
"Since 2020, we have been investigating the site of one of the bastions constructed during the re-fortification of the town following the siege of 1643.
Following the initial investigation in September 2021 which was filmed as part of Channel Four's The Great British Dig programme, the project has returned to site for three summers from 2022 to 2024.
I am now pleased to say that the report covering these three seasons has just been published and is available to download.
This is accompanied by a new issue of the project's newsletter, Siegeworks."
