These eight guides are based on the 1911 Encyclopaedia Britannica. The FSG thanks Alistair Graham Kerr for writing them, and Charles Blackwood for assisting him as picture editor.
As part of our charity work the Fortress Study Group tries to make generally available educational papers for anyone with an interest in fortifications. Although arguably dated, these guides explain the state of the art of artillery and fortifications at the time that many of the ones that most interest us were in operation.
