This is a 6 day programme from Thursday 9th October to Tuesday 14th October. We will be travelling by coach from the UK. You can join in Antwerp if that is more convenient for you. Attendees must be a member of FSG, PFS or CDSG.
The provisional programme is set out below.
- Thursday 09 October - Dpt London Victoria Coach Station 11:30 travel to Antwerp via Dover - Calais Ferry.
- Friday 10 October - Antwerp Inner Line Forts 8 and 2, potentially also 1909 Concrete Redoubts (Schans 16 &17). Possible visit to the 16th C walls of Antwerp.
- Saturday 11 October - Antwerp Outer Line Fort Liezele (museum fort), Fort Haasdonk and Schans van Lauwershoek.
- Sunday 12 October - Liège 1888 - Forts Lantin, Loncin and Flémalle
- Monday 13 October - Liège 1935 - Fort Tancremont, Liege Citadelle
- Tuesday 14 October - Fort Eben Emael including normally closed areas then travel home. Arrive London Victoria Coach Station c21:30.
This facebook post gives a flavour of some of the sites we will visit.
We will stay in Antwerp for the first two nights and then move to Liege for the remaining three nights. Accommodation is on a bed and breakfast basis. We intend to also provide lunch but you will need to arrange your own evening meal. We are also including entrance cost to the forts.
We will be using Leger Travel who are arranging a coach from the UK, ferry crossing and accommodation.
The estimated cost per person is £977 for a party of at least 25 people with a £209 supplement for single occupancy. The cost rises if we have between 20 and 24 people and falls if we have above 30. To secure your place will you now please pay a non-returnable deposit of £160 per person using the form below. We currently (03 April) have 24 bookings.
The balance will be due in mid July.
